“Washing one's hands of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless means to side with the powerful, not to be neutral. ”
Paulo Freire

We design courses and programs that emphasize play and imagination as part of a radically transformative process. Through immersive experiences, we invite participants to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them in order to change it. We integrate a range of tools into our creative work in order to facilitate questioning, reflection, and practice. We see art as a portal to new experiences where experimentation, curiosity, and embracing uncertainty expand the horizons of what is possible.

  • Theater of the Oppressed

Discover how Theater of the Oppressed can be a catalyst for change. Our innovative techniques and interactive approaches empower individuals and communities to challenge and reshape the conditions of their lives. This is more than theater—it's a powerful tool for liberation and social justice.

Through engaging and provocative methods, we dive into pressing social and political issues, inviting critical examination of power dynamics and fostering collaborative solutions. Drawing on a rich tradition of political theater and the visionary work of organizers, writers, and artists, we prioritize critical thinking, dialogue, and active participation to motivate thoughtful and meaningful action.

  • Story Circles

Join us at Planting Seeds Arts for our online Story Circles. A story circle is a facilitated process where a small group of people come together to share personal stories focused on a particular theme. During the circle participants share short (2 -3 minute long) unscripted personal stories in a supportive environment. Story circles have a rich history in social justice settings, and can serve as a platform for cultivating empathy and building community.

Our Story Circles are interactive experiences where everyone is expected to share, and where we prioritize listening, and quiet reflection. From time to time, if the group agrees, we talk about the overall experience, but we do not critique anyone’s story. We’ve created this space for people to practice active listening, vulnerability, and accountability in a small group setting. At Planting Seeds Arts, we host and facilitate story circles across a wide-range of topics, and invite you to join us for this special experience.
