FAQs

  • Our approach uses different arts modalities to encourage play, exploration, creativity, critical thinking, and connection. We are not art therapists, so our work is not clinical in nature. However, we value the work of our clinical colleagues and encourage anyone needing or wanting psychotherapy to talk with their doctor. Please note that we do not provide referrals and cannot make evaluations for mental health services.

  • We believe that everyone has creative abilities and can benefit from participating in any of our programs. We especially enjoy working with individuals and small groups that are seeking new ways to be creative and want to cultivate a practice that includes different approaches.

  • It depends on what you’re hoping to get. Our small group classes are perfect for people that want to cultivate a creative practice where collaboration and sharing with others are prioritized. While our 1:1 sessions are more tailored to your individual creative goals, and can include exploring art making in response to specific prompts. We encourage you to schedule a free consultation if you’re curious and want to learn more about our programs.

  • For our in-person offerings all the materials are included in the fee. For workshops where we utilize printing equipment, participants will have access to all of the equipment during the workshop, but these materials must remain in the studio. The work you create is, of course, yours to take home and proudly display. For our online classes, we email registered participants a suggested supplies list.

  • From time to time we are available to facilitate private workshops or classes for small groups of adults (no more than 12 participants). If you’re interested in hosting a Planting Seeds Arts class or workshop for a special occasion, please schedule a consultation.

  • We recognize that unexpected events occur, and you may find yourself needing to cancel or reschedule. You can cancel your booking up to 48 hours before the scheduled class or workshop and receive a full refund—no questions asked! For cancellations that are done less than 48 hours in advance we retain a 50 percent of the course fee. Regrettably, rescheduling isn't an option, but you're encouraged to enroll in any available future class or workshop.

  • In our commitment to COVID safety, we kindly request all participants to wear masks during in-person workshops. We believe in creating inclusive and accessible spaces, ensuring that all individuals, especially vulnerable populations, can engage safely in our programs. As the director of Planting Seeds Arts is currently recovering from Long-COVID, this project was born from a deeply personal experience of isolation. If you are unable or unwilling to wear a mask, we encourage you to join one of our online classes for a fulfilling experience.

  • We want you to be comfortable in the space, and encourage you to come with an open mind and desire to engage in creative play. For in-person classes we also suggest that you bring a water bottle, snacks, and wear comfortable clothing that you won’t mind getting dirty. You’re welcome to bring an apron or old oversized shirt to protect your clothing. For most of our workshops we will have light snacks and hot tea available.
